Why should I be concerned about indoor air quality?
Today’s homes are built to improve energy efficiency, which means keeping outside air out. That’s great to keep your heating and cooling system running cost-efficiently, not so great when you don’t have a continuous source of circulating fresh air to move indoor pollutants out of your house.
What are “indoor pollutants”?
Particles emitted into the air from people, animals entering your home, furniture, carpets, pet dander, chemical solvents, cook stoves, gas and wood burning stoves. Stuff you can’t see, but that you breathe every day.
How do indoor pollutants affect the health of my family?
You may feel the effects of exposure to an indoor pollutant immediately after exposure, or not until years later.
Immediate effects include irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat; headaches; dizziness and fatigue. Age, preexisting conditions, and sensitivity to pollutants affect whether and how a person reacts to various pollutants.
Other health effects may show up years after exposure or after repeated or long exposure. These can include central nervous system damage, chromosomal damage and cancer.
How do I know if I have an indoor pollution problem?
If you’re living in relatively new construction built to achieve high energy efficiency levels, you most likely have a problem, even if you aren’t experiencing health symptoms. Don’t just take our work for it. The Environmental Protection Agency reports that, “Americans spend more than 90 percent of their time indoors; with traditional building materials, the air inside the homes can be two to five times more toxic than the outside air.”
Can you test to see if I have an indoor pollution problem?
TrueCLEANAir™ technicians are trained to use of high-quality scientific instrumentation that detect indoor air pollutants. We test not only to determine what solution best fits your problem, but we conduct follow-up test to ensure the solution is working as designed.
How does a TrueCLEAN™ Enhanced Whole House Air Cleaning System work?
TrueClean employs a unique 3-step filtration system that charges, captures and destroys airborne particles. The result is air quality equivalent to levels required by hospitals and other super clean environments.
What is MERV? Didn’t he used to be a talk show host?
No, that was Merv Griffin. MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It’s the industry standard to measure an air filter’s ability to trap and remove airborne particles. The higher the MERV rating, the more pollutants the filter removes from your air.
What is the highest MERV rating?
MERV ratings range from 1-16, with 16 representing the standard for super clean environments. A MERV 16 rating means the filter will trap 95% or better of the smallest (0.3 microns) measureable particles. Most single room air cleaning systems, and even typical house ventilation systems, have ratings only as high as 4.
What is the MERV rating for a TrueCLEAN™ Enhanced Whole House Air Cleaning System?
Almost perfect: 15.7—the system deactivates 99% of trapped particles.
Can I afford TrueCLEAN™ Enhanced Whole House Air Cleaning System?
Can you and your family afford not to. TrueCLEAN is both a reasonable expense and a good investment in your house and your family’s health.
